Privacy Policy

This policy covers SproutRow.com (“SproutRow”, “we”, “us”): what is collected when you visit, why, and what you can do about it. SproutRow is run by Wes Harlan, 128 River Rd, Hendersonville, Tennessee, United States. Privacy questions go to contact@sproutrow.com.

In brief

There are no accounts on SproutRow. Your planner settings, your saved plot and your quiz answers are kept by your own browser and are never sent to us. Analytics and ad cookies load only if you accept them in the cookie banner.

Kept in your browser, not by us

  • My plot. Crops you heart are stored in your browser’s local storage under the key sr_plot.
  • Your zone or region. The zone, region or frost dates you last picked are stored under sr_region (older visits: sr_zone) so each tool opens on it. If you never picked one, the tools guess from your device’s time zone and language, inside your browser.
  • Units. Your US or metric choice is stored under sr_units.
  • Planner settings. Kept in the page address after the # sign. Browsers do not send that part of an address to the server. If you share the link, the other person sees the same settings.
  • Quiz answers. Held in session storage while you take a quiz and gone when you close the tab.
  • Cookie choice. Your yes or no in the banner is stored under sr_consent so the banner does not keep coming back.

Clearing your browser data for this site removes all of it.

Collected when you visit

  • Server logs. Our hosting provider records basic request data such as IP address, browser type, the page asked for and the time. It is used for security and troubleshooting and is deleted on a rolling schedule.
  • Analytics, only with consent. If you accept cookies, Google Analytics 4 loads to count visits and show which pages help people. IP anonymization is on. If you say no, the analytics script never loads.
  • Advertising, later on. SproutRow may show ads from partners such as Google in the future. Ad partners can use cookies or similar tools to show and measure ads, and may personalize them where the law allows and you have agreed. Google’s ad settings are at adssettings.google.com. We will update this page when ads start.
  • Email. If you write to us, we get your address and your message, and use them to reply. Ask us and we will delete the conversation.

What we never do

We do not sell personal information, and we do not ask for your name, address or garden location. SproutRow is written for adults and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Who else sees data

Only the services that run the site: the web host, the analytics provider if you said yes, and ad partners once ads run. We may also share information when the law requires it.

Your choices

  • Say no in the cookie banner. To change your answer later, clear this site’s data in your browser and the banner returns.
  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
  • Depending on where you live, for example California or the European Economic Area, you may be able to ask what we hold about you, correct it or have it deleted. Email contact@sproutrow.com and we will reply within the time the law allows.

Updates

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. Big changes will also get a short note on the home page.
